chained to our cars

Can someone please explain to me why I will always want to ride one of these? What is the underlying sexiness in a car? An object of leather and steel, that peels out across the empty horizon.... Why are we so terribly attached to something so emotionally intangible?

Because of the way one knows one would look behind the steering wheel...

Maybe a little bit of both... but perhaps for the wildness of having one's hair fly about unencumbered at such velocities... or when the car is still?

Were I to give any credibility to all the mumbo-jumbo that abounds on the subject of hot rods and people's fascination with them, I would've mentioned something about phallic extension theories and phallic representations... But then again, I don't buy any of that stuff!

Ja! right. Oh, and Oscar my dear, I am not letting you off the hook, everyone else got to hang with you and I demand that you show yourself. (ok, I don't demand, but jurisprudence should inform you of what is just, no?) // True story: The first time I learned the word priapic was in a novel by Alejo Carpentier when I was 18. It was all downhill from there;)

Lani dear, I remain true to my word. In due time I will reveal myself. Just don't expect anything wonderful, honey. It'll just be good ol' me and that, I regret to report, ain't much. ;D

Sí, totalmente desleal! Oscar, if you haven't noticed, I'm nothing much either... it isn't about that, at least not in the female brain;)

Aha! "...at least in the female brain" (esa es la parte operativa del asunto).
Do I need to remind you, dear, that males and females were supplied with quite different thinking organs?!
Hey, when I said I ain't much before, it was all in jest. I think the world about myself. ;) and I DO believe that you ARE a very attractive woman Ila, so please quit saying that about yourself (if you really meant it), cachai?

I was about to ask you, Ila, if nobody sent you the pictures of the dream, but then I realized that the eye behind the camera was Oscar! And he's lying (saying that "it ain't much") so don't fall for that old trick; he's very good looking (big shinny smile), and sooooo nice, which (in the end) is what really matters.

Oscar: No me malacostumbres a los halagos... y lamentablemente (como viste) no estoy pescando sino analizando mis flaquezas mentales.
Flor:Tenía la sospecha que nada más se estaba haciendo el misterioso:)
