This marks my one month "anniversary"
A monumentous event for all the non-existent readers I am sure, but for me, well, I think seeing my words in a place so easily accessed has been an amazing transformation for me. I used to write religiously in my diary, from the day I step onto the plane to go to Argentina, until, more or less the day I found out I was pregnant with Isabella. And then the words turned inwards, and they began to fester. I feel much lighter, as if I were Atlas and the world suddenly blew away, out of my hands, into the (once again) ever expanding universe, its orbit changed... I shrugged.
It is, I know, not so much the quantity that counts, but the quality, and I cannot vouch for that in my daily writing, but I think that on occasion I have a moment of lucidity and I wonder if that is not, in fact, the reason for this sort of writing anyway. The creative writing has been improving too, I think, just by sheer volume something has to get better, and I have been losing my fear of publicly declaming, as opposed to privately scribbling...
So, what will I make for dinner to celebrate? Oh, I already did! and it is only 7 pm. The motive for dinner was really not to celebrate, only now, while waiting for the pasta to boil to al dente perfection did I notice that I have written over 40,000 words (here) in exactly one month. Someone should throw the book at me...
Ok, so, beef stroganoff with lots and lots and lots of mushrooms, (the way all food should be) and a lovely salad of nopalitos, with sliced onion, tomato and fresh avocado, with a red-wine and olive oil vinaigrette (no need to add salt when the nopales are jarred, but if fresh boiled - (put a penny in the pot, the copper makes them less slimy) then salt would also be recommended...
Now it is time to eat, and I actually want to today.
