Heartbreaking, beautiful movie. My thoughts are not new, but the feverish child whose eyes were covered during the bad parts (right. as she peeked out from under the covers) had interestingly analogous commentary when it was over and before I got her cold water with icy to put her back to sleep and what is good and bad:

"Bush (his name is George, you know) lies to be good... War is bad, (sadly shakes her head) but there isn't anything we can do about it."

Maybe we can. Although if funding for public broadcasting is slashed, we may not have children with critical thinking skills at all, which might just benefit a certain sector of the population. hmmm. curious.
