Batty batty batty... 123
Coaxing myself to finish grading final exams. I get a prize at the end of each page. The prizes thus far have been rather rewarding, if you catch my drift;) ha ha. Actually after the first break I got to write a new story, after the second I fiddled with varying webpages and photos and such, cleaning up messes I have left lying about, almost. There is a puzzling thing, because presumably on Mac's there is no photohosting in situ, but if images are posted and then erased from their initial location they still seem to appear. I am running an experiment to see if I can figure this out. So this is my third (I lie, I lie, let me pretend) and final grading break.
The word bat is so utterly lifeless and boring in English, but in other languages it is much more exciting
Spanish - murciélago
French - chauve-souris
Italian - pipistrello (though I could have sworn Deborah spelled it with an "a" not an "e" when she taught me the other day)
Portuguese - morcego
German - fledermaus
ok. so this is the extent of the list I could come up with (because Babelfish only translates "bat" as the object with which you club another human being (strangely appropriate for this barbaric language) though any of these words is much more, well, batty, than bat.
